What are POP accounts? |
 |
POP stands for Post Office Protocol.
POP3 accounts are mailboxes that store your mail until
you retrieve it. A POP3 account enables you to access
email from any Internet-connected PC. Email to this type
of account can be collected using POP3 mail programs such
as Eudora Pro, Microsoft Outlook or Netscape mail. Having
a POP3 account means that emails sit in your POP3 mailbox
until downloaded from our server.
Once your POP account has been set up, you will be issued
with a mailbox address, username and password so that
you can access your email on the Corpex mail server (mail.corpex.net). |
 |
What is SMTP? |
 |
SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)
is a TCP/IP protocol used to send and receive email. However,
since it is limited in its ability to queue messages at
the receiving end, it is usually used with the POP3 protocol.
This lets the user save messages in a server mailbox and
download them periodically from the server. |
 |
What is email forwarding? |
 |
Email forwarding allows email
directed to a Domain Name to be forwarded to another email
address. For example, if you want to have email sent to
your personal email address, (e.g., john_doe@aol.com,
or john_doe@hotmail.com), all emails directed to your
Domain Name (e.g. johndoe@xyz.com) will be forwarded to
your personal email account.
Our basic email forwarding package allows all emails addressed
to a Domain Name to be forwarded on to one email address.
For companies with more sophisticated forwarding needs,
we can provide a package that can handle multiple email
accounts. |
